        COMMEMORATING   the   50th  Anniversary  of  Marcy
        Discount Beverage
 
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to  recognize  the
achievements  of  those  individuals  and businesses which substantially
contribute to the economic vitality of their communities and the  entire
Empire State; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this  Legislative  Body  is  justly  proud  to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Marcy Discount Beverage; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Adapting  to  consumer  demands  over  their distinguished
history, Marcy Discount Beverage is a family owned  and  operated  whole
and  retail  beverage  provider  that  has served Central New York since
1974; and
 
  WHEREAS, As the business has evolved, Marcy  Discount  Beverage  has
tailored their store by adding specialty beers to their selection, along
with other trending beverages to create the area's largest variety; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Marcy  Discount  Beverage  will  be  hosting  a  lawnmower
giveaway and Summer Sampling Series to celebrate 50 years of serving the
community; and
 
  WHEREAS, Small business owners exemplify the entrepreneurial  spirit
which has fueled our State and Nation since their founding; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Events  which  honor  small businesses help to enhance the
free enterprise system upon which our Nation was built; and
 
  WHEREAS, The  success  of  Marcy  Discount  Beverage  is  in  direct
correlation  to  the  efforts  of  Co-Owner, Brent Martel; Co-Owner, Ron
Martel; Sales Manager, Craig Martel, and stakeholders, whose involvement
are, and always have been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an
unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard  of  excellence  in
all endeavors on behalf of the company and the population it serves; and
 
  WHEREAS,  It  is  with  great  pleasure  that  this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business  and  its  contributions  to  the
local  and  State  economies,  fully  confident that it will continue to
enjoy the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far and serve  the
needs   of   the  agriculture,  construction,  landscape,  and  consumer
industries in the Mohawk Valley; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
commemorate  the  50th Anniversary of Marcy Discount Beverage; and be it
further
 
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Marcy Discount Beverage.
