Gives citizens more equitable access to government proceedings. , especially people who cannot attend in person due to work, disability, caregiving, or geographic distance, thereby broadening civic participation.
Creates a historical video record of public decision-making. that can be referenced for at least five years, allowing journalists, researchers, and the public to verify what was discussed or decided at meetings.
Places new logistical and technical requirements on public bodies. , which could result in upfront costs and necessitate training or investment in technology, especially for smaller local governments or committees less familiar with livestreaming.
