What's happening
This bill prohibits individuals or companies from reserving public golf course tee times for others in exchange for payment.
Why it matters
Aims to ensure fair access to public golf courses. by stopping individuals or companies from monopolizing tee times and reselling them for profit, which could make it easier for ordinary players to book tee times directly.
Creates a new enforcement mechanism. by allowing local governments to impose fines (up to $1,000) and keep the revenue, giving municipalities a direct incentive to police and prevent this practice.
Protects normal golfing transactions. by clarifying that legitimate payments like greens fees, equipment rentals, or small tips are not affected—only the commercial reserving or scalping of tee times for profit is prohibited.
