What's happening

This bill corrects the name from Richard Insogna, Jr. to Richard Insogna, Sr. in a law allowing him to take the civil service exam for full-time police officer in Fort Plain.

Why it matters

  1. Correcting the name from "Jr." to "Sr." ensures the right individual is granted the civil service exam eligibility, preventing possible confusion or legal disputes about who is entitled to this special consideration.

  2. This correction preserves the legislative intent of the original law, ensuring that the individual with the intended qualifications and employment history benefits from the exception to civil service rules.

  3. Accurate legislative records are crucial for transparency and accountability; this amendment helps maintain the integrity of government processes and the public trust that laws are applied as intended.
