        AN  ACT  to  amend the election law, in relation to ballots for absentee
          voters
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section  1.  Paragraph  (a)  of  subdivision 1 of section 7-122 of the
     2  election law, as amended by chapter 234 of the laws of 1976, is  amended
     3  to read as follows:
     4    (a) Ballots for absentee voters shall be, as nearly as practicable, in
     5  the  same  form as those to be voted in the district on election day, if
     6  any, except [that ballots for primary elections  shall  omit  the  party
     7  position  of  ward,  town,  city or county committee and except further]
     8  that such ballots need not have a stub, and shall have the words "Absen-
     9  tee Ballot", endorsed thereon.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
