AN ACT to amend chapter 243 of the laws of 2017, amending the environmental conservation law relating to authorizing hunting big game by rifle in the county of Orleans, in relation to making such provisions permanent
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:
Section 1. Section 5 of chapter 243 of the laws of 2017, amending the environmental conservation law relating to authorizing hunting big game by rifle in the county of Orleans, is amended to read as follows:
§ 5. This act shall take effect immediately, provided that:
a. the amendments to paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law made by section one of this act shall be subject to the expiration and reversion of such paragraph pursuant to section 13 of chapter 600 of the laws of 1993, as amended;
b. the amendments to item (f) of paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law made by section two of this act shall be subject to the expiration and reversion of such paragraph pursuant to section 13 of chapter 600 of the laws of 1993, as amended; provided further, that the amendments made to such item (f) by section two of this act shall survive the expiration as provided in subdivision c of section 3 of chapter 68 of the laws of 2015; and
c. sections three and four of this act shall take effect upon the expiration and reversion of paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 11-0907 of the environmental conservation law, as provided in section 13 of chapter 600 of the laws of 1993, as amended[; and
d. nothing contained in this act shall be construed so as to extend the provisions of this act beyond October 1, 2019, when upon such date this act shall expire and the provisions contained herein shall be deemed repealed].
§ 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

This legislation, which is at the request of the Orleans County Legisla- ture, would allow for the hunting of big game for the period of time between November 15th and December 7th. Currently many other Counties have this allowance under law and Orleans County wishes to be placed on the same tiered playing field for their local sportsmen.
