AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to designating Paradox Lake as an inland waterway for the purposes of waterfront revitalization
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:
Section 1. Paragraph (a) of subdivision 4 of section 911 of the executive law, as separately amended by chapter 133, 135, 140, 153, 234, 265, 268, 485 and 499 of the laws of 2018, is amended to read as follows:
(a) the state's major inland lakes consisting of lakes Baldwin, Ballston, Big Tupper, Black, Campfire, Canadarago, Canandaigua, Carmel, Cazenovia, Cayuga, Champlain, Charles, Chateaugay, Chautauqua, Chazy, Conesus, Cranberry, East Caroga, Dickiebusch, Echo (in the county of Westchester), George, Glencoma, Great Sacandaga, Honeoye, Indian, Katonah, Kentwood, Keuka, Kitchawan, Little Wolf (in the county of Franklin), Lincolndale, Long, Lost (in the county of Putnam), Meahagh, Mirror, MacGregor, Mahopac, Minerva, Mohegan, Nimham, Neatahwanta, Northville, Oceola, Oneida, Onondaga, Oscaleta, Ossi, Otisco, Otsego, Owasco, Palmer, Paradox, Peach, Placid, Purdys, Putnam, Raquette, Rippowam, Ronkonkoma, Round, Sacandaga, Saratoga, Schroon, Secor, Seneca, Shenorock, Skaneateles, Silver (in the county of Wyoming), Sagamore, Saranac, Seven Hills, Tibet, Tonetta, Teakettle Spout, Truesdale, Waccabuc, West Caroga and Wixon, Simon (in the county of Franklin) and the Fulton chain of lakes;
§ 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

Purpose
This bill designates Paradox Lake as an inland waterway for the purposes of waterfront revitalization.
Summary of provisions
Section 1 amends paragraph (a) of subdivision 4 of section 911 of the executive law, as separately amended by chapter 133, 135, 140, 153, 234, 265, 268, 485 and 499 of the laws of 2018 to expand the definition of "inland waterways" to include Paradox Lake.
Section 2 establishes the effective date.
Justification
Paradox Lake located in the town of Schroon, Essex County NY, with such lake and waterway being a key component of the Town of Schroon's econom- ic well-being as one of its main tourist attraction.
The inclusion of the Paradox Lake within the intercostal waterway system will open eligibility for the Town of Schroon under the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program as administered by the New York State Department of State.
As part of the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program, the Town of Schroon can access the Division of Coastal Resources assistance in many ways, which include but are not limited to the following; organizing the planning process, establishing a waterfront advisory committee, assist- ance with data collection and analysis, accessing information from other communities that have successfully revitalized their waterfronts, providing guidance on developing appropriate waterfront revitalization policies, assistance in identifying and with preparation of laws neces- sary to implement the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program and providing grants for revitalization projects.
The inclusion of Paradox Lake would be beneficial to not only the Town of Schroon, but for the County as a whole.
