AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to permitting persons sixty-five years of age or over and all persons who are disabled or handicapped to use the commuter railroad facilities of the Metropolitan transportation authority at half fare

The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

Section 1. Section 1266 of the public authorities law is amended by adding a new subdivision 3-b to read as follows:

3-b. The authority is hereby prohibited from discontinuing or reducing standards and procedures whereby all persons sixty-five years of age or over and all persons who are disabled or handicapped shall be permitted to use the facilities of the commuter railroads under the authority's control at a reduction of one-half of the charge for a single trip ticket.

§ 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
