What's happening
This bill requires MTA hearings in every county affected by fare increases or major service changes.
Why it matters
County-by-county access. The MTA would have to hold a hearing in each county affected by proposed fare increases, major transportation reductions or major service changes.
Separate hearing days. Hearings would be limited to one per calendar day, requiring affected counties to have hearings on different days.
Routine changes exempt. Standard seasonal and holiday adjustments, temporary routine-maintenance changes and temporary emergency changes would not trigger these hearing requirements.
